Jeanette Hillig, born in 1977, was educated at Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste i Frankfurt 2005-06 and The Royal Danish Academy of Art until 2008.

Hillig’s 3-dimensional artworks cross the boundaries of sculpture, painting and the ready-made. Materials such as plastic, paint and second-hand mass-produced objects are equal components in the visually appealing works. The composition of various shapes, colors and surfaces is central to the production of Hillig’s practice. Taking advantage of various compositional principles from the painting tradition; kinetics, depth and time passing, these elements remain equally relevant from the development of the works in the experimental phases and in a resulting piece.

Despite the seeming lack of association between the familiar objects, the artworks emerge. In some cases aided by illusionism. The magic becomes apparent when the natural limits of the materials, are exceeded, without evident assistance, putting into question the logical merits of the work.
Due to the process and through presentation of the materials, the works appear as almost unyeilding evidence of the act that have been prior to their permanent shape; Tense, blurred and compressed.
