Born in 1948, Norway, Øivind Nygård studied at Denmark's Design School’s Institute for Furniture and Tool Design 1973 – 1977, continuing his education at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts 1977 – 1983. Nygård has exhibited both nationally and internationally, and in conjunction with his 60th birthday the Danish National Gallery put together an exhibition celebrating his work. A sculptor, his works are made in a variety of materials including glass fibre and metals.
